Jacques DeGruy
Attorney
Jacques DeGruy was born and raised in New Orleans. After graduation from Loyola Law School, he immediately began a career as a litigator, handling and trying cases involving catastrophic personal injuries and property damage in the maritime, offshore, oil and gas and transportation industries. Jacques has litigated cases in both state and federal courts from the initial phases through the appellate process. He gives all of his clients the same personal attention and dedication, because no matter how big or small the case may seem to be, he knows that every case is big for his clients.
Jacques spent the first part of his litigation career working in prominent New Orleans maritime defense firms, where he gained experience and insight into how injury and property claims are handled and defended. Jacques joined the Chopin Law Firm so that he can put his immense knowledge and experience to use helping those who are injured through the negligence of others.
Outside of the office, Jacques enjoys spending time with his wife Debbie, daughters Isabelle, Natalie and Brigitte and dog Rupert. He can often be found fishing in the marshes and coastal waters of Southeast Louisiana or traveling with his family.
