John Wegmann was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU), with a B.A. in Political Science. He received his J.D. from LSU’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center. He is admitted in all State and Federal Courts in Louisiana.

Prior to joining The Chopin Law Firm, John practiced at an insurance defense firm, representing insurance companies in cases involving auto accidents, premises liability, and insurance coverage disputes. Now John is dedicated to representing individuals who have been injured as result of someone else’s negligence or wrongdoing. He also handles first-party bad faith claims, for injured clients and homeowners, who have insurers that refuse to pay valid claims.

John is a third-generation attorney, dating back to his grandfather, Edward F. Wegmann, who was a solo practitioner in New Orleans for more than 30 years. In his free time John enjoys spending time with his daughter Eleanor, photography, and live music.
